We engineered a lightweight custom e-commerce system for an independent host, making server selection, ping testing, and checkout fast and effortless.
Project Brief
We were hired to design and build a custom WordPress platform and bespoke e-commerce engine for a client managing a large catalog of bare-metal servers and VPS plans.
Our primary objective was turning a standard static showcase into a fast, highly responsive catalog where engineers can filter hardware by RAM, CPU, or region and purchase instantly without plugin overhead.

Optimizing WordPress query structures so 1,000+ server listings render instantly without causing database locks or search lag.
Building a ground-up, lightweight checkout flow to bypass bulky third-party e-commerce plugins entirely.
Designing a clean, dark-themed UI that displays dense hardware specs and live status indicators seamlessly across mobile and desktop.

Interactive Rack Status
An Alpine.js component we developed to show live rack units, status lights, and real-time ping metrics right in the catalog view.

A custom script we wrote to clean, map, and import thousands of raw server specs directly into indexed database tables.

Architecture
We engineered this platform from the ground up as a lightweight custom theme using Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js-completely free of page builders or heavy e-commerce plugins. To guarantee sub-second search speeds across thousands of hardware configurations, we routed catalog and cart queries through direct, indexed SQL calls rather than standard WordPress loops.
We also implemented custom PHP REST API endpoints to handle cart updates, live latency checks, and filter requests dynamically without triggering full-page reloads.
Skills Used
The site stays insanely fast even with our huge server catalog. Ditching heavy e-commerce plugins for a custom checkout made a massive difference-our customers love how quick it is to pick specs and order.
