Android Kiosk Development

Custom Android kiosk software for self-service ordering, touchscreen terminals and dedicated devices. Built around the hardware, workflow and customers using it.

Custom Android Software for Self-Service Kiosks

We build custom Android kiosk applications for self-service ordering, check-in, registration and other touchscreen workflows. The interface is designed around the physical device rather than treating a kiosk like a conventional mobile app.

For self-service ordering, customers can browse categories, view products, choose quantities, add notes and manage their basket without staff assistance. Clear navigation and a focused ordering flow help customers move from the first screen to a completed order quickly.

Kiosk interfaces need to work differently from conventional websites and mobile applications. We use large touch targets, bold controls, clear visual hierarchy and strong product presentation to make the experience easy to understand from a touchscreen.

The application can be designed around the fixed portrait or landscape dimensions of the Android hardware, with integration for suitable printers, scanners, cameras, payment terminals and backend APIs. Offline workflows, local caching and queued transactions can also be considered where the kiosk needs to continue operating during temporary connectivity problems.

For dedicated devices, Android kiosk mode and device-management controls can restrict the device to the intended application. Updates, logging and recovery can also be built around the way the hardware will be deployed and maintained.
